The Heart Behind The Sound

Hi, I'm Kari..

My first taste of sound meditation was completely accidental. It was 2016 and I was on a spring cleanse. Ten days of healthy everything. So naturally I decided to sign up for a $10 night hike in the Mojave Desert. Midway through the hike, the guide stopped us, pointed out some stars, and casually pulled out Tibetan singing bowls. Nobody warned me. The sound hit and my brain went from its usual spiral to something like a full body exhale. I thought I was floating. Then I straight up fell asleep. In the desert. Surrounded by strangers. I left that night with no idea what just happened to me, a little embarrassed, and absolutely obsessed. Nobody called it sound meditation. I didn't even know that was a thing. But something about that desert floor rewired me, and in 2022, sound found its way back into my life and became the thing that finally made everything click.

Now I get to create immersive sound experiences rooted in nervous system care, woven around seasonal shifts, lunar phases, and the quiet rhythms most of us have tuned out. I run a small practice called Flower Child Sound out of Avon Lake, Ohio, where I share sound at yoga studios, private gatherings, retirement communities, and a little space I call the Zen Den.

I'm a double Gemini, Pisces rising, documentary obsessed, endlessly curious about energy and what makes people tick, and happiest standing next to a tree. I share my little world with my three favorite guys, as well as a border collie named Ziggy, and twin black witchy cats who tolerate us.

Anyway, hi. I'm glad you're here.
